Few days ago I showed you the womenswear fashion trends for Autumn Winter 12 /13 and today here you have the menswear trends for next winter.
Hace unos días os enseñaba las tendencias de moda femenina para el próximo Otoño Invierno 12 /13. Pues bien, hoy os traigo las tendencias masculinas para la misma temporada.
The spirit of "heritage" is strong for 2012 and there are many reasons for this, one being that "heritage" means reliable, being the best of what the past can offer, but, now, it also means it´s the best of what the future can offer. Our trends take us on a "heritage" journey from nostalgic explorers to rambling revival, from the landed gentry to their staff, from the butlers and manservant looks to the cultish look adopted by bands.
Colours for winter 12 / 13 are simply beautiful. It´s no longer the neutral that are muted, but also the mid tones and pigments brights.
El espíritu de la "herencia" viene con fuerza en 2012 y hay muchas razones para ello. Una de ellas es que significa confianza, siendo lo mejor que nos puede aportar el pasado, pero también lo mejor que el futuro podrá ofrecernos. Las tendencias nos traen un nostálgico viaje al pasado: desde los looks de exploradores y aristócratas hasta mayordomos y sirvientes...
Los colores del invierno 12 / 13 son simplemente preciosos. No sólo los colores neutros, sino también los tonos medios y los pigmentos brillantes.
Warm bloom spirit
A sophisticated play of rust / taupe and gold origin shades, The new browns - pinkish hued toffee / caramels, pinky taupes, an mid tone salmon.

Pure Pigment
Brights that are not so bright - intense shades, but they´re muted so they can be used boldly. Quite vegetal in appearance.
Colores brillantes que no son tan brillantes - tonos intensos pero apagados para que se pueden utilizar con valentía... aspecto muy vegetal.
Nature Boy
Influences: revival of rambling and simple, cheap outdoor pursuits. The style: coats are functional, anorak parka hybrid like styles worn by Jack Steadman of Bombay Bicycle Club, loose shirts, rambling cross boots and trousers in socks. Bobble hats and rucksacks.
Influencias: el resurgimiento de las actividades al aire libre de bajo coste, como el senderismo, montañismo, etc. El estilo: los abrigos son funcionales, híbridos entre anorak y parka como los que llevaba Jack Steadman en Bombay Bicycle Club, camisas sueltas, botas de montaña y pantalones por dentro de los calcetines. Gorros con pompón y mochilas.
Explore
Influences: vintage explorers and adventurers. Borrowed from a time when functional clothes were not fit to purpose. The style: based on normal casual clothes constructed from fine layers, padding them out. Thick cable knits, big oversized mittens on harnesses, over stringed mittens, belts, balaclavas.
Influencias: Aventureros y exploradores vintage. Tomado de una época en que la ropa funcional no quedaba así a propósito. El estilo: basado en ropa informal normal, varias capas y enguatada por fuera. Jerseys gordos de ochos, grandes manoplas, arneses, manoplas con cordel, cinturones y pasamontañas.
King´s Men
Influences: there are inevitable connections with the movie "The King´s Speech". Also references to the 1984 movie "Another Country" are worth re-looking at. British public schools and universities - intellectual, eccentric and the impoverished gentry. The Style: this is all about traditional tailoring and all over checks. Long overcoats with brighter accents in the checks, three pieces suits.
Influencias: Hay conexiones inevitables con la película "El discurso del Rey" y también con la película de 1984 "Another Country", que vale la pena volver a ver. Las escuelas y Universidades públicas británicas - la nobleza empobrecida, intelectual y excéntrica. El estilo: todo trata sobre sastrería tradicional en todas sus versiones. Abrigos largos y trajes de tres piezas.
Rebel Yell
Influences: the barest hint of rebel origins remain, but it´s more of a retro journey into simbols of rebellion. More like "Happy days" with an edge. Comtemporary bands like Surfer Blood and The Drums. The Style: 1960s slim lined tailoring - a sharper, preppy college style meets Mod era. Brightly coloured suits. Mix smart troussers with casual tops. Dressed up but always with a little Rock ´n´ Roll attitude. Always slim and never oversized.

Pero es más que un viaje retro en símbolos de rebelión: como en la serie "Happy Days" (que representaba la vida idealizada de los años 50 - 60 en Estados Unidos). Grupos como Surfer Blood y The Drums. Trajes de línea ajustada al estilo de los 60, entre el estilo pijo universitario y moderno. Trajes de colores brillantes. Mezcla de pantalones elegantes con camisetas informales. Arreglado pero con un toque Rock ´n´ Roll.

Miniature perfection
After all the strong, superficial pattern of recent seasons, the idea now is to move to the non-obvious. We miniaturize patterns so much that they almost seem to mutate into textural effects worked into grounds bringing richness and volume to handle and a dimensional, textural effect to what would otherwise a flat shirting.
Después de los estampados fuertes y superficiales de las últimas temporadas, ahora la idea es que no sean tan obvios. reducimos tanto el tamaño de los estampados que casi parecen efectos de textura aportando riqueza y volumen a lo que podría parecer una camisa lisa.
