Carnaby Street

Hello! Today we are going to Carnaby Street! This will be a short but nice walk!

We are located in Soho District but behind the hustle and bustle of Oxford and Regent St. we can find this beautiful pedestrian zone where you can find well known shops (Levi's, American Apparel, Diesel, Pepe Jeans, Gola, Fred Perry, MUJI, etc..) but also “petites boutiques” that I love the most ;-)

By the 1960s, Carnaby Street proved popular for followers of both the  Mod and hippie styles. Many independent fashion boutiques, and designers such as Mary Quant, Marion Foale and Sally Tuffin, as well as various underground music bars in the surrounding streets. With bands such as Rolling Stones appearing in the area to work, shop, and socialize, it became one of the coolest destinations associated with the Swinging London of the 60s.

Hola! Preparaos para la ruta que hoy nos vamos a Carnaby Street!! Este paseito es corto, pero muy agradable! 
Estamos en pleno centro de Londres (entre Oxford y Regent St.) pero detrás del bullicio encontramos esta bonita zona peatonal, donde podemos encontrar tiendas conocidas por todos (Levi´s, American Apparel, Diesel, Pepe Jeans, Gola, Fred Perry, MUJI, etc.) pero también otras más pequeñitas y menos conocidas que son las que a mí más me gustan ;-)

Carnaby Street se hizo muy popular con las modas Hippy y Mod de los años 60s. Se situaban en esta calle boutiques de moda independiente y diseñadores como Mary Quant (inventora de la minifalda) Marion Foale y Sally Tuffin así como bares de música underground. Algunos grupos como los Rolling Stones, aparecían por esta zona para trabajar, ir de compras o hacer sociedad, convirtiéndose así en uno de los destinos más cool para los seguidores del Swinging London de los 60s.
