New Clutches Collection

Christmas is just around the corner, and a few weeks ago I was thinking about launching something new for Etrala that could work well for Christmas. Something that could be a nice, handmade, original present, as well as something to wear for this season's parties. 

As a designer, one must keep the eyes open and be openminded to any new ideas, so while I was reading fashion blogs (as usual) and following Fashion Weeks I just realised about something that was actually a trend: clutches that matches completely with the garments. I mean, exactly the same. Same fabric, same print. The highlight of the Total Look trend that we have seen already in the last seasons. So, down to work, here you have the result... 

Las navidades están a la vuelta de la esquina, y hace unas semanas estaba dándole vueltas a la idea de lanzar algo nuevo de Etrala que pudiera funcionar bien para estas fechas que se acercan. Algo bonito, hecho a mano, especial, que sirviera como regalo original además de ponible para las cenas de empresa y celebraciones navideñas. 

Un diseñador siempre tiene que tener los ojos bien abiertos y mente abierta a cualquier nueva idea, por lo que mientras estaba leyendo blogs de moda (como siempre) y siguiendo las Semanas de la Moda, me di cuenta de algo que estaba súper de moda, tanto en las pasarelas como en la calle, bolsos de mano o carteras que iban completamente a juego con la ropa, es decir, exactamente igual. Misma tela, mismo estampado. El no va más del la tendencia Total Look que ya llevamos viendo en las últimas temporadas... Así que me puse manos a la obra, y este es el resultado...

Inspired by the work of the artist Roy Lichtenstein, the latest Etrala London collection includes his classic comic strips on cotton prints and the Pop Art influence on the primary colours and shapes. As usual, the brand uses these funky prints for the lining of most of the garments in this collection, to make them special and different.

The collection goes from the most casual garments for the youngest girls to the most luxurious outfits for evening parties, including high-quality dresses and jackets for the busiest days at the office.  

The whole collection is ethically made in London, from 100% natural fabrics such as British wool, leather, cotton and silk. 

Once again, Etrala designs elegant and classic high-end-quality pieces with a modern twist, to make its designs original, unique and timeless. Each garment has been carefully designed, thinking in the aesthetic, quality and comfort. 

Due to our Slow-Fashion Concept -to reduce surplus stock and wastage- all the garments are handmade to order within 15 days.

Today I'd like to show you how to make the easiest leather clutch ever! 
I love the ones you can fold over, so the only thing we need to do is to cut it double size to fold it in half. This is part of the design as the shape is really simple. With this tutorial, you can achieve very different designs changing the colours or materials.

Paris Fashion Week - Street Style

I love Fashion Weeks and not only for the designer's presentations on the catwalk but also for the Street Style around it... 

Actually, Streetstyle is becoming as important as the fashion shows, because people love to see how 'fashion victims' wear the collections that the designers have presented last(s) seasons... 

The Paris Fashion Week is [one of] the most importants around the world, where the big names present their collections every season, and most of the fashion celebrities gather around the event. We can see fashion editors, models, actors, designers, bloggers, etc. who are absolute Trend Setters and find the FWs the best place where to show their outfits. 

For this season, we are done, NY, London, Milan, Madrid and Paris are over and we will have to wait until September to see more looks.

Ecoluxe - London Fashion Week

Hi Everyone!

Last weekend has been very busy for us, LONDON FASHION WEEK has been running in London as well as Ecoluxe London, the Ethical Luxury event that takes place every year along side the LFW. We were visiting the Somerset House on Saturday, and presenting our latest Autumn Winter 2013 collection on Sunday and Monday, at Kingsway Hall Hotel, in Covent Garden.

A Fashion Designer's Week

This has been a very inspiring and "artistic" week, since I have been thinking about the new collection, and also  made a DIY project that I will show you next week...

#GFW: Graduate Fashion Week

University of East London Stand

Graduate Fashion Week is taking place right now in London, and I had the chance to visit it last Monday. It showcases  the work of more than 1,000 of the finest BA degree Fashion students from 40 Universities across the UK and overseas. GFW is the largest graduate fashion event in the world. Designers, marketeers, new media experts, buyers, pattern cutters, stylists, journalist's, illustrators and visual merchandisers all participate in GFW and represent the future of British fashion. The event is full of talent, creativity and new ideas.... It was so inspirational for me!

In addition, I had the chance to attend the WGSN Trends Seminar for Autumn Winter 2013 / 2014... amazing! but I can´t tell you yet, professional secrecy, hehe.
