Christmas tree napkins

You may have seen a few videos and tutorials on the internet showing how to fold napkins like a Christmas Tree. However, if you are using printed paper napkins like these (from Tiger) you will need two of them to make each tree, due to their white back that would be shown when folding them. 

Ya habréis visto varios vídeos y tutoriales en internet sobre cómo doblar las servilletas en forma de árbol de navidad. Sin embargo, si utilizáis servilletas de papel estampadas como éstas (de Tiger) necesitaréis 2 servilletas para cada arbolito, ya que son blancas por detrás y se vería al doblarlas. 

First thing first, you will need to totally open up the napkins and place 2 of them wrong side to wrong side, so both right sides will be shown. Afterwards, fold them again as it was one ☟. 

En primer lugar, hay que abrir las servilletas por completo y colocar dos de ellas encarando los reveses, de tal manera que se vea el dibujo por los dos lados. Después, vuelve a doblarlas como estaba una . 

Fold up each single corner as shown on the picture ☝︎. 

Dobla todas las esquinas hacia arriba como se muestra en la imagen ☝︎. 

Turn it upside down, and fold back each side like a cone, as shown on the image ☟. 

Dale la vuelta, y dobla cada lado hacia atrás con forma de cono como se puede ver en la foto ☟. 

Turn it upside down again, and you will get something like this ☟ 

Dale la vuelta otra vez, y te habrá quedado algo como esto ☟

Fold up the corners and hide each one behind the following above. 

Dobla las esquinas hacia arriba y esconde cada punta debajo de la siguiente de arriba. 

Voilà!! You can place them standing up on the table! 

¡¡Tachaaaaán!! A diferencia de las de tela, las puedes colocar de pie!

Once I had finished the Cloud & Star Baby Cushions I decided to make another cushion for the cot with our baby name using the pink and white felt I had left. 

Here you have the step by step tutorial so you can make your own with your baby name in your favourite colours! 

Después de hacer los Cojines con forma de Nubes y Estrellas decidí hacer este otro cojín para la cuna con el nombre de nuestra niña, aprovechando los restos de fieltro que me habían sobrado. 

Aquí os dejo el tutorial paso por paso para que podáis hacer el vuestro con el nombre de vuestro bebé en el color que más os guste.

I love DIY. I love making myself very personal gifts and I always find a lot of inspiration on Pinterest. This time, I wanted to do a very special birthday gift to one of my best friends, Carolina, who was turning 30 -wonderful- years old. 

So, at this point, I decided to make a Quote-on-Canvas project, including her name (vertical) and a special quote (horizontal) creating a crossword effect. 

This project was inspired by this one, but I made it quite different. 

Me encantan las manualidades (afición a la que ahora está de moda llamar Do It Yourself). Me encanta hacer yo misma regalos muy personales y para ello siempre encuentro toda la inspiración que quiero en Pinterest. Esta vez, quería hacer un regalo muy especial a mi amiga Carolina, que cumplía 30 - magníficos- años. Así que decidí hacerle un lienzo con palabras que tuvieran un significado especial, incluyendo su nombre (en vertical) y creando una frase (en horizontal) a modo de crucigrama. 

Este proyecto está inspirado por este otro, aunque yo lo he hecho bastante diferente.

DIY: Turban Tutorial

I've always loved turbans, as well as all vintage inspiration... 

A few days ago, I went to a best friend´s wedding, and decided to wear one of Etrala's Spring Summer 2013 collection dresses. To give it a vintage twist I bought a second hand fur jacket and lace gloves in Brick Lane market, and paired it with one of my mum's old hand bags. But the most important accessory of the look was the turban, which I decided to make myself, with the same material as the dress. Finally, I completed the look with vintage-inspired makeup and jewellery: cat-like eyeliner and red lips, and jewellery that belonged  to my grandma. 

On this post, I would love to share with you both my inspiration and the DIY tutorial :-)

Siempre me han encantado los turbantes y la inspiración vintage...

Hace unos días, fui a la boda de una de mis mejores amigas y decidí ponerme uno de los vestidos de la nueva colección Primavera Verano 2013 de Etrala, y darle un toque vintage, así que me compré una chaqueta de pieles de segunda mano y unos guantes de encaje antiguos en el mercado vintage de Brick Lane, y me lo puse con un antiguo bolso de mi madre. Pero el accesorio más importante del look era el turbante, que me hice yo misma, con la misma tela del vestido. Por último, completé el look con un maquillaje también de inspiración vintage: rabillo marcado con eyeliner y labios rojos. Las joyas eran antiguas de mi abuela. 

En este post os quiero enseñar tanto la inspiración como el tutorial para hacerlo tú misma :-)
