WITH wind turbines lining the length of the CHANEL catwalk, you could have been forgiven for thinking that Karl Lagerfeld was going to present us with an ecological message for his Spring/ Summer 2013 collection - but think again.
"It's more about the mood of the times, not something you have to translate," said the designer after the show. "It's all about the wind, it's in the air," he gestured of the set and referring to the overall ease, breeze and serenity of the collection which, still Chanel through and through, didn't draw on one chain or camelia. "I removed everything," he said - except for the pearls.
